Service Description
A tour which usually lasts about 4 – 5 hours is a great way to view some key sites while experiencing varying contrasts in geology, nature, architecture and historical attractions all from the Charabanc. This tour includes: Napoleonic Sites Tour, Plantation House Grounds and Jacob’s Ladder. Leaving from Jamestown and proceeding to Napoleon’s residence at the Briars and onto Longwood House, Napoleon's last residence, now a museum. We will then see the remotest golf course in the world and it might be a chance to spot the endemic Wirebird. After a lunch break we will continue to Napoleon’s Tomb, in Sane Valley, his burial place. From here we take you through the lush countryside of Levelwood and continue on where you can view Prosperous Bay Plain and the airport in the distance. We will continue on through Rock Rose and Green Hill before passing through to Sandy Bay. St Paul’s Cathedral and Jonathan the tortoise, the oldest inhabitant on St Helena, and believed to be the world's oldest living creature while visiting Plantation House the residence of the Island's Governor. After some photo ops with Johnathan we will continue through Sapper Way, New Ground, Half Tree Hollow and then to the very infamous Jacob’s Ladder before completing our trip back in Jamestown. Price includes entrance fee to Napoleons home.
